About Me
I left school in 1981 with, amongst other qualifications, an O Level in Art and midway through an A Level course in Art and Architecture. But what was I going to do with the skills I'd gained?

Del the Designer
Former Graphic Designer
I immediately started working as a YTS trainee in an Art and Graphic Materials retail business called The Copyshop in Torquay which also specialised in document reproduction (photocopying/ dyeline printing) and part-time design for customers.
In 1992, I started the first of my two courses at Dartington Tech,
just outside Totnes in Devon, studying different processes of media design, in particular magazine and newspaper layouts.
In 1996, I returned to the college to expand into the field learning about:
-
black & white photography
-
developing 35mm film
-
3D graphics
-
cut & paste design (computer-aided design was in its infancy)
-
silk screen printing
I walked away with a NVQ qualification. At last! I had a qualification to support the experience I'd gained whilst doing the same work at The Copyshop.
Although the training and qualifications came to nothing (in a professional capacity), everything I've learnt over the years has been used in many different ways.
I have designed and printed business cards, flyers and receipts for small business, and club cards, entry tickets, post cards and flyers for leisure activities.
I've even produced a fanzine called MegaBucks for local football club Buckland Athletic.
More recently I design websites for a hobby. My sites include:
* Monopoly British Army Edition and Heroes of the Battlefield -
sites for unreleased military board games.
* Reshad's Reiki Therapy - a professional healing therapist site.
* English Premier League Squads - a soccer roster site.
* Emma Underwood's Book Lover Reviews - a book review site.
* Martin & Christine's DVD Collection - a movie collector's site.
* The Playstation UK1s - a video gaming club site*
* Jenna Kathleen Church - a stage performer's promotions and news
sites.
(* I also designed the club's personalised t-shirts, baseball caps, mugs and writing pens).
